A practical robotics experience where students assemble a working robot, learn programming logic, solve engineering challenges, and compete in a friendly mini robotics tournament.

Hands-on STEM learning from parts to performance.
Build
Assemble the robot chassis, wheels, motors, sensors, snap-on electronics, and gripper.
Code
Use beginner-friendly programming logic to make the robot move, respond, and complete missions.
Improve
Test, troubleshoot, adjust, and think like an engineer when the first design does not work perfectly.
Compete
Take part in a friendly mini robotics tournament built around teamwork, precision, and strategy.
Six-day student curriculum
A focused robotics pathway students can continue at home.
Take-home activity booklet available to registered studentsThe six-day robotics plan has been converted into a take-home activity booklet for registered students, with guided activities that support hands-on building, beginner-friendly coding, testing, reflection, and practice beyond the camp session.
Scratch Mission Game
Students model the tournament as a simple Scratch game and learn events, movement, boundaries, and logic.
Arduino Nano + mBlock
Students meet the robot brain, connect snap-on electronics, and upload a successful hardware test.
Movement + Calibration
Teams build the drivetrain, wire the motors, and tune forward, backward, left, and right movement.
Phone Control
Students pair the robot by Bluetooth and complete safe driver drills using phone control commands.
Gripper + Sensors
Teams mount the gripper, practise object pickup, explore sensor ideas, and run timed practice matches.
Tournament + Showcase
Students complete final inspection, compete in the mini tournament, and present their design improvements.
Take-home workbook included
Registered students receive a printed booklet with daily goals, build steps, homework tasks, wiring diagrams, troubleshooting logs, tournament scoring sheets, and parent sign-off spaces.

Lead Instructor
Mr. Danual Bridgemohan
Mr. Danual Bridgemohan is a dedicated ICT educator, Head of IT at Waterloo Secondary School, and the founder of EduTech STEM Academy. He brings more than 20 years of classroom teaching, school technology leadership, and real technical support experience to the Robotics Camp.
His background combines education and industry: he has served as an ICT teacher and Head of IT, facilitated Ministry of Education ICT professional development for teachers, managed computer labs, supported school ICT infrastructure, and previously worked as a Business Systems Support Engineer providing PC, server, printer, operating-system, and network support for corporate clients.
Mr. Bridgemohan holds postgraduate qualifications in Education and Educational Technology with distinction, is currently pursuing an MSc in Cybersecurity at the University of Trinidad and Tobago, and has strong experience in website development, database design, Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, PC maintenance, networking, and server repair.
Junior Instructor
Jayvaughn Bigford
Jayvaughn Bigford brings current student leadership, robotics competition experience, and a strong passion for engineering to EduTech STEM Academy's Robotics Camp. As a CAPE science student at Waterloo Secondary School, he helps younger campers connect robotics ideas to the real classroom skills they are building in science, mathematics, technology, and problem-solving.
Jayvaughn serves as Head Boy/Head Prefect, Astronomy Club President, and Chief Engineer of the Waterloo Secondary School Robotics Club. His STEM journey includes FIRST LEGO League, UTT Sustain-a-bots, FIRST Tech Challenge, the NASA Marsfarm Project, and the NASA Space University Camp.
At the NASA Space University Camp, Jayvaughn earned 3rd Place Overall Champion, 1st Place in the Rocket Build and Launch Competition, and 2nd Place in the Thermal Shield Engineering Design Challenge. His technical strengths include robotics design and assembly, electronics troubleshooting, Arduino programming, and ESP32 programming.

Club founded in 2019
The Waterloo Secondary School Robotics Club was established in 2019 by Mr. Danual Bridgemohan and Mr. Jerome Ramdahin to inspire students in robotics, engineering, computer science, and STEM education.
FIRST LEGO League success
When FIRST LEGO League came to Trinidad and Tobago, Waterloo competed nationally on two occasions and earned a trophy for outstanding performance before the programme was discontinued locally.
SUSTAINABOTS finalist
The club's innovative proposal was selected among the top twelve finalists in UTT's SUSTAINABOTS Competition, earning two Arduino Robotics Kits to support electronics and programming projects.
FTC Team Connect Award
On 27 June 2026, the club competed in the FIRST Tech Challenge against nine secondary schools and earned the Team Connect Award for collaboration, sportsmanship, and engagement with other teams.
